Top 10 Video Special - Devils shorthanded goals

As bad as the 2011-12 Devils have been on the power play, including allowing the most shorthanded goals in the league, they've been that good while they're shorthanded.  Adam Henrique's shorty last night in Calgary was the Devils' 10th shorthanded goal of the season.  10 of anything means it's time for a DGA Top 10 Video Special.  Here's the 15th Top 10 Video Special, and it's the Devils' shorthanded goals this season in chronological order.  Enjoy.

#10 - PARISE'S FIRST PENALTY SHOT - October 21st, 2011

The Devils' first shorty this season actually came on a penalty shot.  It's the first penalty shot Parise ever took in the NHL, and it succeeded.

#9 - PATTY'S SHORTY - October 22nd, 2011

The night after Parise's penalty shot goal, the Devils scored another shorthanded goal.  This time, Ilya Kovalchuk found Patrik Elias in Pittsburgh.

#8 - ZACH'S SLAP-AROUND - November 16th, 2011

This goal in Buffalo was the first of many shorthanded goals involving Parise and Adam Henrique.  I call it the slap-around as Zach spins around and blasts it in.

#7 - PARISE'S BLAST AGAINST THE SENS - December 8th, 2011

The Devils fell behind Ottawa, 3-0 at home, but this Parise tally made it 3-1 and sparked a comeback.

#6 - ZUBRUS' SHORTY AGAINST THE SENS - December 8th, 2011

Entering the third period, still down 3-1, Dainius Zubrus provided yet another shorthanded goal to cut Ottawa's lead to 3-2.  The Devils won 5-4 in a shootout.

#5 - HENRIQUE BURIES IT ON A 2-ON-0 - December 12th, 2011

The Devils scored twice via 2-on-0 breakaways in one game against the Lightning.  This Parise-to-Henrique shorthanded goal was one of them.

#4 - HENRIQUE SCORES AGAIN ON NIEDS' NIGHT - December 16th, 2011

Scott Niedermayer scored some huge shorthanded goals in his career, so it's only fitting that on the night the Devils retired #27, Parise and Henrique combined for another shorty.

#3 - KOVY'S EMPTY NETTER - January 6th, 2012

This was the most exciting shorty of the season.  Well, actually it wasn't, unless you just love empty net goals that much.  The play starts at 1:42 of the clip.

#2 - HENRIQUE STRIKES AGAIN - January 7th, 2012

You get the picture by now: Zach Parise feeds Adam Henrique.  This one's a little different, though.

#1 - HENRIQUE STRIKES AGAIN...AGAIN - January 10th, 2012

That brings us to last night's goal in Calgary where...Zach Parise fed Adam Henrique.

HONORABLE MENTION - January 11th, 2012

Well, because you asked for it, here's the 11th Devils shorty of the season: Kovy on a breakaway in Edmonton.

I love it. I think #4 was my favorite though! Watching Parise harass three Stars players before stripping the puck and feeding Mr. Calder Trophy!

  2. After last night in Edmonton you're going to have to add another to the list, with Kovy's SHG
